Seasons' Change Book & Clothing Swaps
To celebrate the change of the season, twice a year we invite people in the Petit Science Center to donate the clothes and books they were not using anymore for a free-trade market. We receive new or gently worn clothes, shoes, and also books. The items are displayed for everyone to grab as many as they liked, and any items left are donated.
This semester, we are collecting donations for Flowing with Blessings, Lost-N-Found Youth, and the Georgia Department of Corrections Library from November 4-8. Our most needed items are:
Clothes: Men's clothing, gently used bras, belts, new underwear, new socks
Hygiene: Tampons/pads, toothbrushes/toothpaste, disposable washcloths and towels
Food (non-perishable): Snack foods (chips, applesauce, etc), soft foods, food that doesn't require cooking
In past semesters, our clothing donations were sent to the non-profit organization Lost-N-Found Youth, which supports LGBTQIA+ youth struggling with housing. The non-profit organization also has a thrift store, which uses funds from donated clothing to further support their mission.

Our book donations are sent to the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Library to support all academic and vocational education programs, leisure reading, and Law Library needs for offenders.
