Seasons' Change Book & Clothing Swaps

To celebrate the change of the season, twice a year we invite people in the Petit Science Center to donate the clothes and books they were not using anymore for a free-trade market. We receive new or gently worn clothes, shoes, and also books. The items are displayed for everyone to grab as many as they liked, and any items left are donated.

In past semesters, our clothing donations were sent to the non-profit organization Lost-N-Found Youth, which supports LGBTQIA+ youth struggling with housing. The non-profit organization also has a thrift store, which uses funds from donated clothing to further support their mission. We also frequently work with Flowing with Blessings, a nonprofit organization established in Atlanta, Georgia, with the goal to provide showers and laundry services to the homeless and unhoused population. Their core belief is that every person deserves to feel clean, comfortable, and valued. With their services, they aim to empower those facing homelessness and help them rebuild their lives with dignity.

Our book donations are sent to the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Library to support all academic and vocational education programs, leisure reading, and Law Library needs for offenders.

SNP also conducts food donation drives in the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas, as this period typically shows a dirth in food availability at pantries. We typically donate to Intown Cares.
